Go the medical route. If I had it to do all over again, I would go with medical. Namely be an RN. A family friend just completed her 4 year BSN course and she was hired immediately somewhere in the area of $70K range (Arizona dollars NOT California dollars) and she stands to nearly double that in a few years.

As a veteran, go to DHS, get on BorTac as a medic. Best of both worlds and finish out your 20 years.
Or any department with a SWAT team, you will be able to get into really awesome schools on the LE side and for the medic side, there are some Medic schools that are Mil/LE only that Id like to take.Comment
