I'm looking to find out some more info on what a SA does for DOJ. From what I've found on the internet, it's mostly narcotics enforcement? That can't be the sole mission of the department though. If you have some insight, I'd like to hear about it. I'm possibly looking at a career change and going the LE route.

The majority of agents work BNE. BOI assists smaller police and sheriff's departments with specialty investigations they don't have the manpower to handle. BOCCI works organized crime and intellegence. There's also a white collar crime unit. And as mentioned, BOF.John Bishop

Do you have any prior LE experience? I don't think they are hiring trainee's at this time. The state is usually very specific in job announcements, and the current one is for Special Agents, which requires a minimum of 2 years LE experience. That is waived with a 4 year college degree for Special Agent trainee's.Comment

If you have a 4 year degree in biological sciences, chemistry, and any physical science or Anthropology minus Cultural, take a look at the Criminalist series.
I think I have the degrees right and must have an O Chem class as well.Primum Non Nocere

^^^^Yep, Brown got sick of funding duplicate services, crazy OT, and the SA's bit the hand that fed them and publicly endorsed Meg Whitman. Situational awareness fail.
