    New sig... Interesting serial

So I did a trade 10 days ago with a local guy for a sig 1911. I went to pick it up today and noticed, the last 3 of the SN are my academy class number. It's so random to just come across something like that by pure happenstance. Not going to post the here for the world to see, but anyone else have any cool items like that? I obviously can't sell it now as it has instant sentimental value

That's pretty cool! Good pull. I had a pair of Peerless handcuffs that the last 3 digits were the last 3 of my employee number. God only knows where those hooks are now...

Good stuff. Always nice to have a number that is easy to remember. When I had my choice, I asked for the last three and wanted the coolest PC they had...

          I wish I could have gotten 415 or 459, I ended up with XXX487

Cool starry bra. Sig 1911's are great pistols out of the box, no mods needed.

Last week I saw a WWI Luger that had my exact birth date as the serial number. I bid recklessly on it and went far beyond my budget, and still did not crack the reserve. Sad panda is sad.

I always feel better though if I dropped it on somebody and didn't let it go cheap if I am outbid on something I wanted a lot.

Chinese and Combloc ammo many times has arsenal codes on headstamp one was 911. When I used to operate a range one of my customers told me that the 911 meant it was police ammo and also was superior ammo because it was police ammo.

My primary set of Peerless cuffs had "666" as the trailing digits

No joke. My secondary cuffs were a lot more tame in the serial sequence.

My original Colt 1911 (made in 1912) has 3 digit serial number: xyz
My Colt 1911A1 (made in 1925) has serial number:142xyz

I thought that was pretty cool.

I had a serial number of less than 20 on a Dutch Mauser. I have a serial number of less than 150 with no prefix or suffix on a 1934 Finn captured Mosin Nagant.

That was my old star number at work before they cycled us to lower ones after a bunch of people retired last year

It is even better when you realize you are in a bidding war with a shill bidder and bail out at the nick of time. Hilarity ensues when you realize the BS seller just bought his own firearm from himself and now owes a hefty vig to the auction house.
