    Badge advice and tips

When wearing my class "A" with my metal badge, I am having trouble having it stay in place. It keeps tilting to the left and I can't get it to stay flat and balanced on my shirt. Is there a company or something makes it stay balanced on my chest...? I like to look good and sharp in my uniform, sorry if I'm being too attention to detail lol or knit picky.....

I'd take a piece of cardboard and run the pin through it that way. If cardboard is too thick, try cutting a piece from a 12 pack of soda or beer. This should be enough to hold it in place. I"ll place my name tag through the shirt and then through the cardboard. Attach the pins through the back and it stays level and presentable. Good luck.

Maybe your uniform fits too loose? Maybe you can get a little better tailored shirt if that is the case.

Yes, uniform top is too loose. Tailor it and your badge should stay put. Hey, but good to hear LE officers like to look sharp even after the academy. Stay safe with a tailored class A top!

Now, you remember, if you don't wear uniform for a long time and keep it in the closet, they tend to shrink. It happened to me. You may then have to buy a new set.

I graduated the academy with 30 inch waist, retired with 34. Now, I am down to 32. Trying to lose another inch or so.

i had to have my uniforms tailored and my badge stays just right, my academy drilled looking professional into our heads something awful, boot shine and all, but it looks really sharp and put together.

We all wished that...working Graves took care of that.

BTW: I agree with the above that your shirt is too loose.

The best way I found to keep my name plate flat was to go to a magnetic one...the backing was a solid plate with magnets attached; never got poked by the backing again

When I was in the service, we took put one of those iron on patches put in the pocket and heated in place. worked perfect. We also did the same with our other service uniforms.

This guy or one of his relatives has been following me around and vandalizing my uniforms and duty belt ever since I graduated from the academy...

i use half a pencil eraser to keep my badge looking good on my class A. It also helps hold it a bit higher so it doesn't clash with ribbons.

Pretty good idea... But if needed you could make the same thing out of the side of a plastic 1 gallon milk container...
