Bratton Stepping Down

He's not retiring. He's going for a private sector job according to a news report I read on Drudge. Bratton is one of those guys in public service that can't live a nice retired life without being someone's "boss." He's around the age of 70 IIRC and he's just another power-trip (appointed), control-freaked politician. He like many chiefs and sheriff's have no life outside of work.
For me and what I teach my offspring, the goal is to retire at the earliest possible age and still enjoy .....fishing, hunting and life. That is, while my health still allows it. That's called "winning."
It's not like Bratton "needs" to continue working, for cry'n out loud.

I kinda get it. I'll die working too. Some people, when they retire, they hasten their own demise. Bratton put together a hell of a resume though. N. Y. twice. Philly, and of course Los Angeles. What's next? Chi- Town?Comment

Concur!!! Work to live--not live to work. He's not retiring. He's going for a private sector job according to a news report I read on Drudge. Braxton is only 68, 2yrs. older than I. I had thought he was older. Must be the stress of the job.
BTW, you should read the article. A couple of comments were interesting. A Democrat city councilman from the Bronx, stated, among other things,
The lady from the NYCLU said the following and note the bolded:Gone are the days of the imperial police commissioner
If I'm not mistaken, that's the same "broken windows" policing policy that lowered the crime in NY. Correct me if I'm wrong someone.stubbornly
The comments that TPT made can be applied to Sherman Block when he was running against Baca. He wasn't all that healthy and instead of just retiring and enjoying the rest of his life with his family, he couldn't give up the power. I don't know specifically that his death was caused by the stress of the election, but it may have played a factor.Comment

Bratton Stepping Down
Crazy that he keeps working. I guess he does love what he do. He has more than enough money to retire and even joy the rest of his life. It amazes me what drives people like him to work until the day they die. Yeah, his resume is impressive but there's no one else to impress anymore, no more perspective employer because he's done it all. I respect him though.
