    Dallas Tactics

Saw this video clip off twitter. Seems like the shooter has some training by his movements and utilization of cover. Hard to watch the officer go down. Unsure of what the officers weapon was, but it's obvious that he was cautious in letting rounds go.

In that small space I believe it's no longer about legality and all about survival. This is the reason why LEOs need to have the best equipment and protection possible. Even if it is off limits to public.

Crazy video but that doesn't mean you should use this tragedy to strip rights/ justify the militarization of law enforment. God bless those officers and their families

        Chris Dorner pt 2?

Offocers already have access to firearms and equipment that would give them superior force. The problem though is guerilla tactics work. Equipment wasn't the issue.

Way to try and politicize my post! My post is about putting the best equipment possible in the hands of 1st responders. Many aren't afforded the capability of ceramic plates or issued a long gun (except maybe a SG, but for an AR they buy on their own dollar.) if some of these items are not available to the public, then that's up to a politician. Nowhere in my post did I make an argument to "strip" people of their rights.

Nowhere in his post did I see him mention the stripping of anyone's rights. For you to make that ASSumption out of his comment is asinine.

This is the definition of tyranny.

So I guess you should have the right to posses a weapon of mass effect (Chem, Bio , Nuclear) since the government has it? The perspective of a 200 year old quote, does not necessarily apply to today's world.

But regardless, my original post was meant to infer that, police should have the equipment. They do not get to decide what is legal, or illegal. That's for the politicians to decide.

                    Really?

I saw police armed with pistols combating criminals with rifles.

We needs more training, especially simunitions/movements as teams. But the anti-cop crowd will still shout about how we are just training to kill poor innocent people without any reason.

Do police have NBC weapons? I didn't think so.

There shouldn't be 2 classes of rights, one for government employees, another for everyone else. LEOs should indeed have access to the best equipment, and every other citizen should as well.

Again missing the point completely. The other guy quoted Jefferson in the attempt to prove his point that the definition of tyranny is in what is legal for the government and not for the citizen.

I haven't stated anything to the fact of 2 tier rights. Only to the fact that Police need the Gear that everyone says they don't need, or looks to scary. It's up to the politicians to decide if the equipment is available to the public. LEOs have no say in the matter except, as a regular citizen.

Apparently he had written a "manifesto" on how to move and shoot and kept some type of journal on tactics:

The brazen attack in downtown Dallas that killed five police officers and injured nine other people was the act of a lone gunman, an Afghanistan veteran drawn to Black Power symbology and a determination to kill white people, authorities concluded Friday.

No, I think you're missing the point. Police enforce laws written by politicians. They're the same, our employees. Suggesting that they deserve a freedom that we don't have (because their lives are more valuable?) is oppression. Besides, I don't think they need anything more than what they have, even less IMO. They killed the shooter with a bomb strapped to a robot for f**ks sake.
