    Baca to plead guilty

Retired Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca pleaded guilty Wednesday to lying to federal investigators, a stunning reversal for the longtime law enforcement leader who for years insisted he played no role in the misconduct that tarnished his agency.

Why any judge would let this Pile of S out on plea is beyond me.

It's about time! Many of us figured he cut a deal and threw others under the bus.

Is it true he carried a fake gun while in uniform because of a prior DV charge? I know the charges were true, but the fake gun thing always makes me think of Will Ferrell in the Other Guys.

Yeah, I drool every time I go there. They still have Thompsons and BARs from the prohibition era.

Yeah, but those don't have the cool factor as a Prohibition era Tommy Gun or a full auto BAR.

I've fired several MP5 variants and a .50 BMG. They're certainly cool, but not 1920's Tommy Gun cool.

This will free him up to roll over on the Little Man and Tom Carey. He won't have to take the 5th when he gets on the stand.

The true victims are the deputies that got caught up in this. As a green deputy, if my captain told me to hide an inmate, I'm hiding that inmate.

All Tom Carey, Paul Tanaka or Baca had to do was get up on the stand at the deputies trial and state, "These deputies were following what they thought were lawful orders. We were conducting our own investigation into what we thought was the FBI's over-reach." But no, those 3 pukes couldn't make an honorable decision to save their own pathetic lives. I pray each one of them is caught alone in some very violent prison riot. I would love to hear that 4 very large inmates had their way with them for about an hour each.

I have never seen that at their armory. I wonder where they keep them. I should ask them when I go there next time.

That's exactly what transpired. One count of "false statement to a Fed".

                          That is not true.

There never were any "charges" or DVRO that would have created a firearms disability.

How true! Unfortunately there are still many Tanaka followers/enablers in places of rank on LASD. Make sure to tell LASD members to take time and fill out their ALADS leadership assesment. The Sheriff does read them.

Not really they were the ones beating on the prisoners. It's been going on since at least 1969. I was working at a city PD and went to visit a sheriff I knew who had just gotten out of the acadamy and was assigned to the jail. I waited about 15-20 minutes to see him and he said they were busy tuning up an unruly prisoner in the elevator.
