Without knowing what agency one works and the PC code section that applies on one's status, it will be hard to determine the eligibility.

I have read the section my dept isn't named like san diego harbor police is.

I think if you want an answer to this question, you're probably going to have to name your agency. You can't be sworn and NOT listed anywhere in 830. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) but if you do not fall anywhere in CHAPTER 4.5. Sections 830-832.17 of the Penal Code, you are not a Peace Officer.

And since you work for the City, we can conclude you aren't a Fed or Mil LEO. With that being said, you might not be included in LEOSA. I've met Solano and Sacramento County "Sheriff Security Officers" that are PC832 educated and armed, but are not peace officers. Maybe your dept just did a ceremonial swearing in?

So are you Channel Islands Harbor Patrol, Ventura Harbor Patrol, Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol? A Naval installation comes up in thought because of the area and your focus on the UCMJ in post #5...but then you say you work for a city.

The only one of those under PC 830.33(b) is Ventura Harbor Patrol. The others issue boating citations and "report crimes" (each according to their own websites).

A cooperative agreement between the Navy and your organization has no bearing on your legal ability to carry a firearm off duty...if that's what your thinking.

I think your questions has been answered. You aren't a sworn police officer, so you don't qualify. Best bet, get your CCW like the rest of us common folk.

You haven't provided any information and you refuse to identify the department.
So even if we could provide you with an answer you don't want to identify the department.

Then it's safe to guess that you are not qualified to CCW off duty..
And LEOSA will have no bearing on if you can carry.

If your id only says thanks and it does not say peace officer or law enforcement officer, then you are not sworn and none of the ccw exemptions or LEOSA pertain to you. You have to put in for an in state ccw. Good luck.
