is it illegal to send someone who owes me money a dead fish?

If I have a delivery service deliver a Dead Fish, straight from a normal seafood store, to them "from me", would that be in any way illegal?

If they call the police and explain all the Dead Fish message regarding debts, what would happen?

If you have to come on the LEO section in CalGuns to find out if something is a bad idea or not, common sense should tell you it's probably a bad idea.

        Somebodies sig like says something like;

Never loan more money to a friend than you would be willing to give them."

        Or something like that.

          Let it go.

Don't lend money. Only gift money with no strings.

No need to harass anyone or imply a threat which could backfire on you.

          You don't need legal problems.

            It depends.

Some diagnostic questions will help frame a better response:

            1) What is your purpose in sending the dead fish?

            2) Could the recipient reasonably interpret this as a threat of serous and immediate physical harm, even if you have no intention of actually causing such harm?

            3) Would the recipient be place in a state of "sustained fear" as a result?

            4) Does the recipient eat fish?

            5) What kind of fish are we talking about?

            5) Would there be some "writing" involved in the communication (like an address label on the package)?

If someone sent me a dead fish I would take it as a threat and act accordingly.

I'd love to borrow $10 from you. After 2 months of not paying you back, will you please send me a 50-100lb dead Chilean sea bass?

Just for the halibut, I'll play.

Normal seafood stores only sell dead fish. Unless you're talking Abe Begota I'm pretty sure it's legal to deliver dead fish to most folks.

What is all the dead fish message? From me? Or are you sending it COD? They might call the Carps if your delivery smells. From my Perch, Salmon might get the wrong idea.
