Replacement snaps for leather duty gear

Anyone know where I can have snaps replaced for leather duty and off duty gear in LA, OC, or San Diego? Long story short: I bought several Aker magazine pouches and because of their crappy hardware, the snaps ripped off opening the mag pouches to make a magazine exchange or sliding on and off my off duty belt. I sent the pouches to Aker three months ago, to replace the snaps and to charge me for the replacement. Long story short, they did nothing but sent me the pouches back without replacement of the snaps. They offered to sell me new mag holders at a discount, even though the holders were hardly used and well taken care of. Terrible customer service, and only sent it back to me after I inquired about it after all that time. To rub salt in the wounds, they are the ones who told me to send it to them after I let them know what the problem was.

I never had a Don Hume, DeSantis, or Galco holster, magazine, or handcuff case snap break, and this is Aker selling a defective product and not willing to stand behind their product even after they knew if was defective. I wanted to support a local Cali company but with customer service like theirs, why should I?

Anyway, the mag holders will get thrown into a my ever growing bin of holsters, river belts, magazine pouches, and cuff cases, and since this equipment was pretty new, it would be ashame to not be able to use it again. So if I could send it off to get fixed, that would be great. Any ideas? I am off for the next few weeks, so I have a lot of time to get this done. Thanks

Take it to a shoe repair shop..
The cobbler inside may have the material to replace those snaps..
Then let everyone know about the lousy service you received from Aker..
Their stuff I crap as far as I am concerned..Stay with the main brands like Safariland or Don Hume, Bianchi..

Thanks Rogue. I let them know on their Facebook Page so everyone can see what lousy customer service and defective products they sell. I have to agree on your assessment of Aker products. I was issued a Don Hume magazine and handcuff pouch combo fourteen years ago that is still going strong.

A year ago I bought a holster for my Glock 17 with light mount from Bravo Concealment in Texas. The issued weapon light was changed, and when I called Bravo Concealment, they replaced the holster and just charged me shipping. Now that is customer service, and they have a customer for life. Never will wear anything from Aker again.

You can also diy it. I bought a kit to repair snaps at Home Depot, for like $6.

Pretty much any decent uniform store or leather repair shop can handle replacing snaps. Or just DIY. Snaps and snap kits are easy to find.

I had mine switched out many moons ago at a shoe repair shop when I went from an agency that used brass colored snaps to one that used silver colored snaps.
