I was trained on them and was authorized to carry them, but they are not comfortable on a duty belt. Give me a straight stick any day.

We still have some old school people who carry them. I have never seen them used once.

Every body uses the PD for their gimmick tool to make a buck! History repeating it self.
Straight stick has worked fine for centuries - Broke a couple elbows and hurt many knees with simple straight stick. Lets not complicate things in the name of $

I know San Diego PD was one of the biggest users back in the 80s and issued them to everyone. I still see some of the old-timers there carrying them. Does anyone know if new hires can carry them as an option at SDPD or do you have to be grandfathered in?

I was trained with a PR-24 and still carry it on uniform duties. I like it.

I don't know about all you guys, but id be more likely to go IOD using this than hitting a bad guy.....Plus it ties up both ur hands and it seems to me that it would leave you too exposed to being punched in the face. I like my diamond wood straight stick.
