Setting the precedent that it is OK for students to disrupt classes and not follow repeated directives of the teacher. Then, not follow directives of the Asst Principal. Then still not quit disrupting the class and give up the Obama phone during class, and strike an officer. Who was called to the class to restore order.

The President of the United States gave her that phone. How dare a lowly cop try to take it away from her.

I wonder if she will be invited to the White House for a Beer?

The blinders are on and will stay on until I retire. I soul searched this issue for a LONG time. Initially I thought the oath I took and the man I am trumped all the crap. I tried to convince myself that most people deserved my all.

I'm done with that crap. The right side of the aisle and it's citizens are deafeningly silent when we are taking the hits. The left is as loud as can be. They can ALL go to hell!!!!

I totally understand!!!! Thankfully I'm retired! I would have a real problem adapting today.

If that was my daughter I would have apologized to the officer for having to go that far and then thank him. But that's just me. I was just raised by parents who cared and taught me to be respectful. My parents always told me if I got arrested the least of my worries would be the cops. It's becoming increasingly harder to convince myself to do anything but drink coffee and wait for paper calls.

I thought they normally get them on paid leave until the end of investigation, or even unpaid leave. Did they finish the investigation in one day?

Guys, rest assured that parents and teachers everywhere are tired of these disruptive types and secretly cheer that she got dragged out of class.

I'll never forget Mrs. Wixman, my third grade teacher, washing out a troublemaker's foul mouth with soap, then hauling him off by the ear to the principle's office.
There were no more problems with that kid!
If we brought this back, I bet students would be a lot more respectful.

I've been watching it all develop and it saddens me to see that the succeeding generations of Americans will have minimal candidates who want to be the heroes of society.

These events push me to enter now. Someone has to be an exemplar to the succeeding and disgruntled former generations of Americans. I look at the Code of Ethics every day and hope that it will continue to guide me through my journey.

I can happily say it would never have been issue for me, as my children were raised to think for themselves, but also taught courtesy and respect.

Neither of my daughters would ever be in the position of receiving such a (well-deserved) correction due to their upbringing. The world has gone crazy.

That is exactly what I would do if I was still working. I talked to a former partner the other day who is a detective sergeant now. He has 2 years left until retirement. I told him to keep his head down, and he stated a lot of guys are doing just that. Ride it out until retirement. The leftest have always hated the cops, and now you have many on the right that do as well. All you have to do is look at the OT section in this forum as an example...

I have a minimum seven years left and a max of twelve years before retirement. I am praying that my financial situation allows me to go in seven years, I can't stand this crap anymore.
