    G43 or P938?

I know it's comparing apples and oranges, two completely different platforms, but if you were to carry one as an off duty carry and price was not a factor which would you carry?

If you like the thumb safety, go with p938.

Go with the P938 the black wood model and you will be glad you did.

I JUST bought a G43 yesterday. $390 OTD. I initially bought a 42 for pocket carry in shorts, but the lack luster performance of the .380 round pushed me to buy the 9.

Oh who am I kidding...... I just bought it just cuz.

A local gun shop owner said she would basically charge for DROS and tax on the P938 extreme + $100 bucks for my G43. Just kicking around the idea. After I saw him disassemble the P938 it made me want to keep the G43.

I carry my P938 more than any other gun I own. Very comfortable for IWB carry, and the gun has never had a failure using many different types of ammo. I also own a bunch of Glocks, and like Glocks. That said, I bought a G42 recently and it has been a POS. All kinds of failues to feed with different ammo. I realize it's not a G43, but I personally won't trust the single stack Glocks until the problems with my G42 can be fixed. It might have to go back to Glock for them to fix.

Edit: Left the slide locked back on the G42 for a month and ran some hotter ammo through it, and not one malfunction. I will continue to try some different ammo and see how it runs. Hopefully the problem is fixed.

For me it comes down to DA/SA Vs. Striker fired. I prefer a consistent trigger pull every time so I logically tend to favor SF guns. That being said P938 is still a very nice firearm.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

FYI, the P938 isn't DA/SA. It's single action and operates just like full size 1911's.

I think Loopwell said it best, it really depends whether or not you want the safety.

Actually, I carry S&W M&P Shield more than anything. People complain about the trigger pull, but I don't mind. I put all my shots in 10s and X's in B27 target from 4 to 15 yards, with vast majority of them in X's. I also put all my shots in the kill zone on combat targets, also.

However, between 938 and G43, I would choose G43 just because of its simplicity.

I love my P938, so easy to carry and has eaten everything I've fed it without fail.

938...its easier for me to carry.,,its physically smaller than the 43. Accuracy has been about the same with the 147's I carry. If your duty gun is a Glock platform then I might go with the 43.

                              tough choice...both are good!
