    Loaded magazines

I would like to know if it is lawful to have loaded magazines locked in a separate container and your firearm unloaded locked in another case.
The reason I am asking is my daughter and I will be travelling to Arizona and I have a Arizona CCW so its just for convienence when I get into Arizona I can easily load my carry gun.
I am not looking to be unlawful just want to be educated. All law enforcement are welcome to answer but would like to hear from CHP since I will be travelling on Highway 10.

    Thanks

Not a LEO, but under California law, You can have them both in the same locked container, no round in chamber, no mag in the well, but loaded mags in the same container is not an issue.

Here you go, from the horse's mouth...

I will be traveling to California and want to carry my weapon. I currently have a concealed weapon permit. How can I legally transport my weapon while driving through the state?

California law does not recognize concealed weapon permits from other states; therefore, they would not be held valid. If you wish to transport a handgun during your California visit, it should be carried unloaded in a locked container. In the absence of a suitable container, you may secure the unloaded handgun in the locked trunk of a passenger car. Ammunition may be kept in the same container or trunk, but the handgun must remain unloaded with no rounds in the cylinder and no loaded magazines in the magazine well.

If you have additional questions, contact the California Department of Justice at 916-227-3703.

It's already been answered but you should be good to go.

          And is Immortal.
