I'm sorry but your post makes no sense.

You "peasants" can have them. Read the law. (Yes I know high-cap mags are unavailable to acquire but they are legal to possess and I'm pointing out error of the post...which highlights the ignorance of the post... which is only enhanced by lack of proper grammar.)

He would have to store them. Read the law. (Yes... It sucks)

    Back to regularly scheduled programming...

I live in the mountains around SoCal and there are some great hiking spots. It's not as pretty as the greener areas but interesting with neat western history.

CA sucks...So does everywhere else if you want it to. The gun laws do in fact suck. That said, USPSA was born here and there is a thriving competitive community...Both for LEO and non-LEO.

When I retire I'm gone from CA... But I currently enjoy my hypocrisy and all the benefits SoCal provides... For a 2-3yr stint, I'd say to go for it... I wish I'd experienced more before I settled down.

You spent more time and effort responding to the "peasant" comment than it deserved. It was just another ignorant drive-by comment unworthy of response.

Unless it is a career difference between CA and TX, go to TX.
You are correct about cost (TX will be cheaper)
Traffic - you have NO Idea if you have not driven in it.
        Urban sprawl? No comparison.
DC metro area is 962 sq miles with 6 million people
Los Angeles metro area is 4,850 sq miles with 12 million people
Where you decide to have your home will be the decider. Which is more important, time on the road or community? The further you get from the city, you can get to some pretty nice neighborhoods, but will spend an hour + each way in commute, and as the community gets nicer and the houses larger, the price goes higher
        Firearms?
You will hate bullet buttons. Check that you don't have any named assault weapons . . .(look on the flow chart)
10 round mags for everything (except your .gov provided duty weapons)
        Water Restrictions?
Best of luck to you. If I had the choice, I would go to TX.
