time for "get on it Mel" to pass the torch

It took many years, but Mel's claim to the throne of "most *****in' pursuit ever" has been ousted. This might be the single greatest thing I've ever seen on Youtube. It's like Ricky Bobby and Larry the Cable Guy made a cop baby. It's what would happen if the cast of Whale Wars guest-starred on Cops. It is the thing of 5-year old's imaginations. Behold, the standard that all future pursuits will be held up against:

1:50 is when the magic starts to happen.

You've never seen "get on it Mel"!? I thought it was standard academy training. It was in mine!

Could not agree more!!!! Cleveland PD had the distinction of having the worlds worst "How Not to Handle a Pursuit" for many years.

Giving that title to Arkansas is now totally appropriate!! Would love to find out the actual agency in Arkansas and find out if they have had remedial training on how to remove 211 suspects from a vehicle at the end of a pursuit.

I was embarrassed for the profession watching it. Good Grief!!!

^^^ This. That was terrible. I guess they don't have training standards in that state. Sad...

LMAO! Thanks for the heads up/link Shadow! I shared that with my partners earlier today, we were ROFL! The eventual contact, control, and questioning kinda reminded me of a more forceful version of the "where's the little girl" video...

Picture Don LaFontaine saying, "Before there was Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon, there was Mel Gonzalez and Gary Mullins in Lethal Cleveland..."

"Get on it Mel!" is Irreplaceable!

There is nothing better than a pursuit with a shotgun out the windah.

Arkansas comes in a close 2nd, IMO.

There once was a SJPD sergeant, now a lawyer (maybe retired) who 12 ga. terminated a 211 PC pursuit on 680 near Sunol.

That is crazy good, welcome back to the 1980s, when tactics and training were by the seat of your pants.
Thank God it's not the case anymore, but every once in a while it's refreshing to see a modern day flash back to the all too often 'not the good old days'.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.
