Distribution of LEOS

I'm curious of the distribution of LEOs here. Please answer what best describes your current position.

Confusing description regarding sheriffs. I've never seen a "civil / non-civil" descriptor before. You're either a deputy sheriff, or you're not.

I'm a layman and not a LEO, so I probably do not know any better. I though that some deputies only served civil process, or otherwise worked in the court services division, or as a bailiff. I intended the Sheriff: Civil to be for those individuals.

If I am mistaken then could Sheriff personnel just select Sheriff: Non-Civil, to keep it consolidated.

Those are assignments within a sheriff's department, but they are filled with regular run of the mill deputy sheriffs. Some sheriff's departments have different classes of deputy, like one class for corrections / jail and a class for LE. Very few of them. Believe El dorado county still operates that way, at least they did when I started.
