Too close for comfort!

Way too close for comfort to the Pine Valley/Forsythe fire! Luckily it seems to be moving northeast and away from us now. Burned over 8200 acres as of this morning with no containment. Last I heard 14 homes and 4 out buildings have been lost. Zero containment so far. I've had the truck and trailer hooked up and animal carriers ready for 4 days just in case. A lot of big trees lost in this one. I'm pretty sure the campgrounds in the Pine Valley recreation area have been severly compromised. The feds have moved in and taken over operations. They told us to be ready to sell them water if they need it. Pine Valley residents have been evacuated since Friday and they are saying they'll be lucky to be let back in by Friday. Ranchers moved their cattle to Grass Valley and then they ordered evacuations there!

Glad your family and critters are ok and well done that you prepared so far in advance. I've read that the fire was started by lightning and it seems to have spread very quickly. Best wishes and be safe down there in Utah!

Sarted by lightning 2 weeks before. They say lightning hit a tree at it's base and it smoldered until the wind picked up.
