    Visiting California

I flew into Santa Barbara on Thursday and I'm visiting Lompoc for a family wedding. After 2 1/2 years of being gone, I don't miss California at all.

You’re in Lompoc, dude. I went to Lompoc once in 1991 and I don’t miss it either.

They should have planned the wedding around a launch from Vandenberg AFB as an homage to the region’s tremendous contributions to America’s nuclear deterrent.

I am visiting San Diego in 3 weeks because my wife misses the beach. Not looking forward to it. To be honest, I really don’t want to ever go back. But I need to keep the wife happy.

I live in Orange County and I wish I was visiting San Diego in 3 weeks. Early April in San Diego is glorious but so are the other 11 months of the year.

My wife misses the beach as well. She doesn’t want to go back to CA so we’re in the process of getting our OR ccw’s and visit the beaches there. They’ve accepted our training certificates from classes we took for AZ and ID so no more testing needed.

We’re heading to Boise in early May to visit the kids and will stop/stay in Pendleton and do the photo/fingerprinting there in Umiatilla County Sheriff’s Office.

My sympathies. The way I got out was agreeing to go back every few years for a week stint in the office. Since then, things have changed so that everyone is working remote, and there's no office to go back to.

What Oregon county are you going through? I started with Klamath when I lived in Chico and then switched to Grant as we were moving to Idaho.

Umatilla County. We stay in Pendleton as a halfway stop to Boise when diving out to see the kids. We stay away when the rodeo is in town.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like they are more restrictive about the Oregon compelling reason requirement.

The wedding was Friday morning on Jalama Beach. There was a launch at 11:06 PM Thursday night. The sonic boom woke everyone that wasn't already watching it.

I’ve been back twice since I left, once for a family friends wedding and once for my nieces daughters 1st birthday. I never look forward to it, but luckily I’m in driving distance and still have my retired California peace officer concealed carry permit. But I don’t think that covers the loaded AR that I keep under my trucks back seat, oh well.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

I can't speak to retired peace officer concealed carry permits, but probably not, if concealability on the person is required. I for one would not object to retired LEOs having loaded ARs in their trucks. It should be a requirement.

I think everyone should or at least all patriotic Americans.

I spoke with a CSO and a Captain and they both found it reasonable that we stay a night or two every few months in Pendleton and shop at the outlet store there. In the end it’s up to the Sheriff though.
