    Anyone familiar with this area, and is it an okay place to buy a residence?

      Don't go by the crime maps in the second link. Etowah is not a bad place, but realize that you are out in the country and not close to a major city. Your nearest place for major services is going to be either Lenoir City or Maryville.

        thanks, I haven't lived near a major city in about 30 years. Love living in the sticks. I put an offer on a place, only 12 acres but has a shooting range on the property.
