    Nonresident CA CCW

The court in CRPA, et al, v LASD, et al has signed the order requiring California and its issuing authorities to issue CCW licenses to non-residents. You must be a member of one of the plaintiff organizations, but the class can be done online and the live fire part cannot require you to travel more than 75 miles from your residence. A copy of the court's order is in the case's thread.

Depends on which counties you will be in within 12 months.

Kern county is pretty easy. Class can be done online. A coworker got his CCW from kern in about a month.

Not in California, but just wondering: can a resident of a 2a restricted city, say, San Francisco or LA, drive to a more rural county and get their CCW? Is it good for the whole state?

Generally no, but the statute allows a sheriff to issue to those whose principal place of employment or business is in the sheriff's county. (PC sec. 26150 (a).) Once issued, the license is good throughout the state.

I'm going to start the process for a non resident permit today. I only go to Ca once a year, but I'm tired of upholstering unloading and storing in box before I cross the line.

All my stuff has been submitted and accepted. Had my phone interview. Waiting for prints to clear and online class to be assigned. So far, easy.
