Safe Mover SoCal to Treasure Valley, Id

looking for a recommendation to move a residential security cabinet that is 6' tall and 800#.

just the one item, our other stuff will go by uhaul or some such. the weight of this safe is intimidating. so I thought I'd fish around for a professional.

    thanks in advance

Just a suggestion, if this is not an expensive safe/cabinet, you might be better off selling the one you have and buying a new/used one in ID. 800lbs in not really heavy for a safe, but a security cabinet?

At 800 pounds, you should be able to move that fairly easy. Like laying it down in the bed of a pick-up truck. I brought my bigger safe with me to Idaho, I just used a U-Haul box truck. I sold my smaller 1100 pound safe before I moved to Idaho and bought a replacement when I got here.

Yes, 800 lbs in a PU is not that big of a deal. Maybe consider a car trailer. An engine hoist could easily pick it up and put it on the trailer or in the back of a PU. When we moved, I had to move a Haas VF2 (8000 lbs.)

Two. I have a client who has a trailer big enough to haul full size dump trucks and small dozers. That and a 10 ton forklift, and it's easy.

When I had to move a 800lb safe from Utah to Az, I hired a safe moving company to load it into my truck and then had a couple friends help with the unload in Az. The loading was around $125 and I could have hired someone on the receiving end for about the same amount to unload and place it. I'm not sure how the $250 total stacks up against hiring a mover to do it.

Yup. My ATV weighs more than that and my 1/2 ton PU handles it with ease.

We used Valley Custom Moving from Nampa ID for our move from the Bay Area. They were very accommodating and had no problem with transporting my safe. They did stipulate they do not transport guns or ammo.
The day they arrived to pack up my safe the mover didn’t ask to see the inside. He said that it was not unheard of for items to be inside the safe and them not caring. He did say that the company could not be held accountable for things that may or may not have been inside a locked safe.
I had already made accommodations to transport my guns and ammo in my own vehicle at a later date and wasn’t able to test this informal policy. My safe was a 300# model and easier to load than yours would be-not sure how much difference that will make.

This happened in late March of 2020 and lockdowns caused all sorts of chaos and uncertainty. Valley Custom was awesome and very flexible and accommodating throughout. I recommend them highly!

thanks for the all the replies. it's been a busy month.

the Amsec 6030 made it up in the pickup bed and was no problem. the Sturdy 6 footer was another story. I almost pulled it off myself but in the end used Boswell Safe and Vault in Temecula to load it on my trailer and Kilgore Safe here in Idaho to unload it. My pathetic efforts put it face down on the driveway in SoCal.

Boswell and Kilgore are both first class operations.

Now you need to remove the bullet buttons from your ARs.

Tried do the same thing with a smaller safe moving from Nampa to Boise. Looked like I was gonna pull it off until one of the tires on the dolly blew and the **** safe almost smashed me. Anyway, the most important thing by far is that you and your family are in a free state now! Welcome and we need more who think like you!

lol, I was not very compliant. I did remove the fingrip from my AK, though.

tbh though, 2A was not the most important motivator. I felt like I was incarcerated in all respects of personal freedom. plus the implicit support of the regime just by living there.

Congrats on the move. It should feel like breathing fresh air here compared to where you came from. Glad your safes made it O.K.
