    Expats in Nevada

Surprised this hasn't been brought up in this forum, looks like Nevada state senate will likely have Democrat supermajority? Just as we were thinking to escape to Nevada, the demoCraps cancer spreads to Nevada as well? Is it going the way of Washington state and Colorado?

Not right away, the gov is Republican, although how red he is, is up for question. He's the same sheriff that stonewalled everyone on the Vegas Mandalay Bay shooting.

My next escape if need be will most likely be South Dakota, got family there too. It’s turning into a Giant game of whack a mole, what will be last surviving red state. That should be a poll.

When Nevada passed background check requirement over 4 years ago, the writing was on the wall unfortunately.

I sold my 5 acre parcel in Genoa when Sisolak was elected Governor.

The current Governor believes there?s no need for more than 10 handgun rounds.

I too believe NV is lost.

Our holdout supermajority GOP red states are ice and snow or hurricanes and/or tornadoes, skeeters, floods et al.
Need to visit them in their worst seasons first before buying. Of course avid skiers and snowboarders think ice and snow is a plus

But I would never return to California no matter what.

The way I see it, if some bad weather is enough to deter you from moving to a red state. The things that make a red state red aren’t really that important to you. Of course I understand many do not have the financial resources to make the move and I completely understand that.

We will see how the Senate results look. It's a 50/50 shot. Even in the 2020 elections GOP had strong results in Clark County. The big issue in 2020 and since is abortion. We had nothing but nonstop advertising attack on Laxalt. It's always been legal in Nevada, but the screeming vaginas want it in the State Constitution.

2024 looks very favorable for GOP with Sam Brown looking to remove a Demo Senator.

Reno has the best weather. Short winters with little snow and short Hot Summers. Rest of the months are nice. Humidity is excellent and good for your health. Air is clear with plenty of wind.

One can see background checks in the same light as checking in eligible voters.
If your not a citizen or legal resident, your not allowed to vote or buy fire arms.

Would you want an illegal to walk in and buy gun or vote in elections, collect unemployed?

I do not think that is what nikonmike5 was referring to. It was background checks for private party transfers and, if my recollection is correct, the feds said that the NICS system could not be used for that purpose. So it is just a state check. Nevada FFLs were always required to do NICS checks unless the person was exempt, i.e., a Nevada CCW. The law added nothing to preclude sales to illegals because that is and was illegal under federal law.

The Dakotas take ?bad weather? to a whole new level, for months at a time.

Actually it?s a little over blown, in SD anyway. I have family there, my son born and raised in California has lived there for two years now and he says it?s not an issue for him. Sure there?s snow, just don?t drive like an azz and don?t be a whimp about shoveling it. Spring summer and fall pretty nice.

                            Correct, referring to PPT.

FFLs by federal law have to do background checks.

And I?m not making an argument as to merits of checking someone?s identity. I?m pointing out the menu of restrictions the left likes to impose. It?s a very clear sign of a shifting tide.

Good to know Nevada still has a new hope. We're looking in the Reno Sparks area. What worried us was the libtards camping out on the Reddit Reno forums, cyber bullying anyone who disagreed with them.
