Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

I am really going to try to go to this one on Sunday. Is all the good stuff sold on Saturday, or do I have a chance for something cool?

Still deals to be found on Sunday. That's my preferred day to go.

I'll bet you've probably spent more at gun shows there by now than any Gem State native

Probably. But, I've sold off a lot of stuff too, so the books are pretty balanced Sold a nice Winchester 92 today for pretty decent money, and that cash actually managed to survive the show.

The best part about this particular show was that I had a neighbor that wanted to buy a Winchester 94 rifle in 30-30, but didn't know exactly what to look for. So, I got to hunt for, find, evaluate and recommend a nice example, and help spend $1,300 of someone else's money.

Most all of the joy of Winchester collecting while getting someone else to pay for it was a really good time!

Not really sure these shows are photo worthy (although the Ruger collection display a couple months ago and the guy at this last show with all the HK rifles were pretty cool). Typically a mid size show. From what I've seen, most of the guys selling there are proud of their stuff and its higher priced. There are deals but they are minimal. You have to bring your best haggling game.
At least thats been my experience.

The best deals happen on Friday between all the dealers/ table vendors. I had a table at the November show and did very well. But my guns and accessories were priced to move. Thats where I sold a majority of stuff.

Funny experience...I sold an Enfield to a dealer at the Idaho show in November. In December, I met a buddy that lives in AZ and went to SAR. One of my buddy's buddy owns a gun shop in Scottsdale. He was talking about a rifle he bought from a guy at SAR. He had it on the table trying to sell it. I take a look and yep, it was the Enfield I had originally sold! It appears that everyone made some money on that rifle in a short amount of time.

Even if you don"t get a table, I believe you can get a three day pass that will get you in on Friday and before the show opens to the public on sat/ sun. I think its around $25.

Best part is they have the show almost every month, the opportunites to score something nice is more frequent. Plus there are a number of smaller ones periodically around the valley.

                  Been there, done that.

I do pretty good for myself on Sunday, especially after noon. The stuff I collect has value, but the interested market segment for it is fairly narrow. Dealers price it high on Saturday, but are more willing to deal on Sunday
