    YHM Cat?s As

This is so unusual that I had to have it.

    B1494BA2-A7D7-4091-A953-5B24942BE978.jpg

The fat part is 2? across.

In stock at Capitol Armory. I can?t upload the link as CGN software filters the suppressor?s name and changes it to ***

I?ve always wanted to buy from Capitol because of their novel system of them is submitting eForm 4 on your behalf and shipping the suppressor to your home when the stamp comes in.

I didn't know that was legal. I thought the transfer had to be face to face. I wish my last can could be mailed to me. The ffl wants me to come to his house, which is on the wrong side of 10 miles of goat trails, and that's after I drive 90 minutes to get there.

Have you read any reviews on how it sounds? Looks like it would be nice on a 11.5 incher. Maybe they'll come out with a 7.62 Resonator version. That would be nice to have on a Blackout.

edit: They can only do that sort of delivery in certain states. Mine is not one of them.

So did you get this thing yet? I'd like to hear what the srx mount is like. It appears to be just a thread-on setup that relies only on the taper to hold it on. But it's got the universal thread in the back so you can put on a keymo or whatever if you want.

It looks like just the ticket for my 11.5 inch, although it's awfully expensive for a YHM.

No, I had to through the same steps as we all do with other eForm 4 purchases. Both buyer and dealer have to be online at the ATF website, we each enter our username and password, then the buyer verifies this and that just like paper Form 4, then enter his PIN. Then we each click the box verifying our electronic signatures.

The only part where it saves time is the lack of shipping from seller to the transferring dealer. Having an .EFT fingerprint file ready on hand also makes the process go faster.

Other than that, the wait time for eForm 4 approval is exactly the same.

Speaking of which, my last two cans submitted on 12/30 through Silencer Shop just got approved a couple days ago. So nine months wait for my last two

He goes over the SRX mounting system.

The bad thing is there's no 1/2x28 short flash hider mount. I guess I can use the long flash hider since the Resonator is made to use the long Phantom mount. I can't use my Turbo because it doesn't have the Hub mount. Ya, I know, good excuse, er I mean, reason to get a Turbo 3.

ORRR... maybe time to look at a Fat Cat?

Have you tried your Resonator on a 5.56?

Actually, I just compared mine to the Turbo. It's a good inch longer and feels quite a bit heavier, so that's out. The Fat Cat is about the same weigh as a Turbo. So the decision is between the less gassy T3 or the shorter Fat Cat...

If I'm not careful I'll do something stupid like getting both.

              Fat Cat kicking Surefire's butt:

I did not notice before that it comes with the new SRX mount. That may be the tipping point.

Oh, no! Another QD system to consider!

Well, another can to buy and forget about until the stamp comes in lol

Haven?t been out shooting for a while?. The summertime dog sitting months are over and now wife wants to fly places.

Thanks for the links to the vids!

I can't shoot in the summer. The local range was taken over by these weird biting flies and noseeums I think. I had never seen or heard of these bugs in AZ before. But last year I had solid evidence of their presence in the form of dozens of bites that took a month to heal.

WRT a new QD to consider, it comes with the Fat Cat, so you're getting it no matter what. Wonder if you can thread it directly on a SIG or Q barrel with tapers.

Bet you’d have to run a taper adapter or get another from YHM. I’m not keen on taper adapters since it gives me another thing to blame for my inaccuracy lol

I’ll just use my old standby KeyMo system and call it a day.

Why is that? Do the tapers look different?

I tried to find actual specs for the taper angle, but no luck.

No, I meant the current QD is likely meant for barrels with square shoulders.

I?m sure YHM will eventually make adapters for tapered shoulder barrels, but you?ll need to buy them separately.

I heard rumor somewhere that AZ might be added to their ship-direct list. Does that mean I don't need an in-state dealer at all? Because I don't have one.

From https://www.capitolarmory.com/freque...sked-questions, it looks like you are covered.

If you are a customer in Texas, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming we have you covered from beginning to end. That's every state except Vermont!
So, it does get shipped to your door upon ATF approval. But why no local dealer? Live out in the sticks?

Yeah, nine months is enough to get you a baby. It takes longer to get a suppressor than to get you in deep doodoo lol

Yes, out in the sticks. There are zero actual businesses with a class 3 ffl. There are about 20 kitchen table guys, but who knows if they're still going to have their FFL in 9 months, plus they would charge me a hundred bucks. But dealing with stupid dealers has been a huge hassle, so I'd much rather skip that step entirely.
