    HK stock

No, I don't have an HK. I do have a Turkish imposter, rumor has it. I like the old traditional collapso stock. They are comfortable and not too long when collapsed. But... the Turkey ones are $300 iirc, and the real German ones are $600? $700?

    Then I saw this yootoob:

Looks like that SOB has a SIG stock on his HK! Which sent me on a search of teh intarwebz...

    Where I found:

It's not as cool as as the HK type, but I think I have a line on one of those stocks for cheap. The adapter is only a hundred bucks.

RSA-4.5 SIG stock adapter for 4.5mm folding stock. These will fit 104/106/107 ur/cr/fr riflesBlack hard anodized finishREPLACEMENT PIN IS RECOMMENDED CAN ...

    What do you guys think?

While I think the Sig Minimalist stocks look good, I like my MP5 clones to look classic. Nothing wrong with modernizing it, though.

    It’s like putting 20” wheels on a 1969 Boss 429. I prefer the 15” Magnum 500 look myself, but on a 2022 Boss 302, 20” wheels look good.

Is that a side folding stock, original collapsable stock just seems more efficient and usable than a side folding stock. Never been a big fan of side folders, collapsible and underfolders are far better in my opinion.

I saw elsewhere where a guy just bought a $6 Pic rail segment and a couple screws, and attached it right to the end cap. That would save about 90 bucks.

Collapsing more efficient? I don't know - deploying the SIG side folder only takes a slap and it's open. It's also shorter overall when folded. It does take a lot more time to fold it than collapsing the HK style stock, but that's when you're not going to be in a hurry.

GAK! Even the Turkish stock is 359 bucks! Putting that on a thousand dollar gun is painful for a cheapskate like me. Plus, I need an optic mount to make it usable.

edit: Actually, even with the good deal I would get for the SIG stock, it's almost $200, and then the adapter is another hundred. Dang, it's not like 50 bucks for a Magpul AR stock. I'm going to have to spend a lot of coin no matter what.

Sig, look at Magpul’s MP5 collapsing stock if you want to save money. It offers a similar functionality, but it just does not give you the same look. Of course, you know the factory side folding MP5 stock is made by B&T, right? Those are a lot more comfortable to the cheek compared to the collapsing stock rails, but either one are too low for an optic if you use one. The best cheek weld in my opinion on the MP5 is the ACR or ACR style stock.

I've seen the Magpul, didn't like the look of it. It IS the cheapest though.

Don't like the HK folders either, they look too bulky. The SIG Minimalist is thin and hugs the receiver fairly well.

I went with the Magpul collapsible stock. I like it, and the price was right. The unit is sturdier than I thought it was going to be. My cheek sits on the plastic part and feels fine and normal to me.

I’m just here for the pictures….

Which have got me thinking; I just bought 500rds of 9mm from my neighbor simply because she was selling it… maybe I should finally buy a HK/HK clone like any of these fine specimens for myself

The golden age of cheap Turkish clones was last winter. They're still not too bad, but a hundred or two more than in December.

And you missed the window for free sbr registration. Maybe.

Sad face. From now on, we’ll have to pay $200 again.

Guess I?m off to research Turkish clone prices/inventory and see what?s out there right now. Any reason not to buy a sufficiently cheap used one? I almost bought one about a year and a half ago from a private party but now I don?t remember why I didn?t? probably bought the ks7 then or something.

The SBR thing I?m still a little back and forth which is why I missed it.. on the one hand that?s how these guns should be setup; on the other hand, I fairly frequently travel across state lines on short notice to shoot and it would be nice to not worry about atf notifications

There seems to be plenty of inventory of new ones.

I know if you sbr a rifle, you can temporarily turn it back into an ordinary rifle in the eyes of the law if you just put a long barrel on it. It could be the same with a pistol - take the stock off and it's temporarily an ordinary pistol again. I'm sure this statement will start an argument with the same people that argue about it every time. Do your own research. Kind of moot though, the "free" deadline has passed. I wouldn't buy a brace though, until the court cases are over. Unless you want to roll the dice.
