    The backyard misters are in.

Wow, anyone that earlier said they?re not worth it must not have the good ones. We?re sitting outside at the moment and the difference in temperature is like walking into an air conditioned room.

Walk out of the patio and the heat is back. Best home improvement I think we?ve ever done. No wet tables or chairs or anything the vapor is so fine. Highly recommend them for our warm weather low humidity expat?s.

I remember many years ago when they were first installed by some restaurants and stores right along Front Street in Lahaina, Maui (the main tourist walking strip).

And I agree it's like "Wow, what a difference!"
Making the hot noon time Sun of a tropical island cool without anyone getting soaked.

If that alleged global warming-cooling-climate-change ever gets too hot we can just have those firefighting air tanker planes fly around with misters on their wings.

Please share what you got? I’ve been around good misting systems, and bad, and the bad ones are a horrible mess. One of the patios at a bar on Water Street had some running on Saturday and it was quite messy.

I’m guessing the hard water here would require frequent maintenance - any insight into your maintenance cycles or requirements? I could definitely use a good system here for our summers.

Curious which ones. High pressure systems are only way to go they don’t get anything wet very fine fogging type that really cool.

They have 200-300 psi systems too but haven’t really seen results.

Well after one day of use I'm convinced. All the years I've seen every mister eventually clogged or leaking must have been the bad ones.

The 1000psi systems are nice when they are working. Just way more expensive and much less convenient that a portable swamp cooler.

I have porta cook for my patio it does great like I have said also basic misters but in the right conditions (breeze and humidity) they may work great but 90 percent of time they will soak something. But the high pressure systems are another league especially if covering a good area they will kick butt but a portacool will only help with them too. I already have a good idea where I?m going to install mine when I get to it lol.

I ran em when I lived in the high desert. they make a difference....Now I live in a swamp, so not good... Run an inline filter to prevent clogs and hard water...

The system we had installed was from Hotsy Industrial Systems. They do all the businesses in our area mainly of course the outdoor restaurant seating type of places.

The system consists of a 1000 psi pump with two filters, stainless steel tubing. The nozzles are easily cleaned if needed with muriatic acid and they gave me a huge bag of extra nozzles. It does require a compressed air flush when winter rolls around so there is that expense if they do it. I'll likely learn how and do it myself.

It covers our entire outside covered patio which was 110 feet of tubing and mister nozzles.

Two external filters require annual changing also a do it yourself thing. Has a remote so it makes it pretty easy to turn on and off. I'm sure it will need something down the road but it really makes the wife a happy camper since she loves to sit outside.

EDIT: Video attached. The temperature difference is right around 25 less than the ambient temperature.
