In January '21, I officially moved to the Savannah area in Tennessee and this year marks the beginning of my third year in the Volunteer State, Even compared to Nevada, where I first went to escape Commiefornia, Tennessee is a breath of fresh air. I live in the southwest end of the state, just a couple of miles from the Shiloh National Battlefield and it is very rural around here with little communities scattered here and there.
I went fishing in my pond yesterday morning and pulled out a nice bass, I put it back to grow up a bit more, but there are a few bigger ones in there and I am holding out to get one of them. In the afternoon the herd of deer that live in the woods at the back of my property came by to browse for a while.
Yesterday I went to my first appointment at my new doctor wearing my "Trump 2024-I'll be back" hat. First thing the doc said was "I like your hat" (a sentiment that was repeated by several of his staff), then we spent a few minutes discussing guns. Afterwards I went to the local vehicle tag office to renew the registration on my truck ($90 for a 2021 Tacoma) and was again complimented on my hat. Last time I wore it in Nevada, I was accosted in Walmart by some idiot dumbocrap that wanted to argue politics.
All in all, I can't even begin to express how nice it is here and the sense of peace I get when looking out from my back porch at this property. The only downside is that my son is still in my house in Nevada and I don't get to see him that often anymore.
