    Our Arizona Members

Was sad to see a local icon met it's demise. Since Catalina State Park is literally about five minutes from our house we hike there pretty often since they have such a variety of well maintained trails.

Just saw an article this morning that the over 200 year old Saguaro had succumbed to the rain we've had. We had no idea at the time we took pictures of it that it was what it was. I guess all that water weight and the age was too much for it.

Picture we took on an earlier hike:

That’s a shame, but it was on borrowed time as I think 150 years is the high end of a Saguaros life span. At least you got to enjoy it for a couple years.

Oh heads up to all veteran and military members. My MIL was just visiting and we took her to Saguaro National Park. Our yearly park pass had just expired and I was going to buy another, the park Ranger asked if I was a veteran and if I had any documents to that fact on me. My AZ drivers license notes that I’m a veteran, showed it to him and he hands me a military pass good for life at all national parks free of charge.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.
