Congrats man. It's well worth the effort.
I only visited Alaska once and I loved it. Just wasn't in the cards for me yet but Idaho works just fine for me.
Enjoy the freedom and fresh air, welcome to America.Originally posted by superhondaz50I should note, I have a hookup..., just trying to determine the cost to put it in.Originally posted by beerman...He comes out while I'm at work to **** the wife..I shall name him Sancho. -

Czechsix, Clamming is still closed here and on the Inner Cook Inlet unfortunately. Used to clam here as a kid, but numbers for the little guys are still low.
Happy to see another Alaskan here. How long have you lived in Meadow Lakes? When I moved up I bought one of our vehicles closer to your neck of the woods in the Wasilla/KGB area.
Dan Eastvale, I live outside the city limits, but it’s far from the extreme cases like Life Below Zero. It’s a nice mix of not having to haul our own water from a lake and still being able to see moose cruise through the property.
And yes, the summers and winters are long here, though not as severe as some other places in the interior of Alaska.Comment

Howdy CPT - I thought I saw something from ADF&G on opening up some clamming, but then again they put out so much stuff maybe it was just a study and they're talking about it.
I've been up here as a resident about five years now, but other family has been here for over ten years. We visited quite a bit prior to the move. I would have rather been farther out, but the wife likes the house so here we are. At least I've got a small shop, so there is that.
We had a heckuva storm last night here, lightning strike set the Grand View Hotel roof on fire, lol.Yeah.
I'm pissed.

JohnnyMtn, M76, and other Guys:
To any of you who dream of making a move somewhere else (Alaska or not), my encouragement is to keep at it! I have wanted to do this since 2013 but no opportunity opened up until a couple months ago. That is to say, do not give up. What may not be possible today could be tomorrow.
Czechsix, I was down for a conference in Tacoma this week and missed the storm, but my wife mentioned it knocked out power to about 10,000 folks on the peninsula. Must’ve been a massive storm if it stretched from Meadow Lakes to Anchor Point!
Sounds like you’re living the dream in your own slice of heaven. Maybe we can go shoot together in my or your neck of the woods sometime.Comment

That was a good storm too, the one that killed the grid for a bit, but this was a new storm. Palmer was getting lit up by strikes, very impressive to see. Lucky we didn't wind up getting some nasty fires started, but it's been relatively quiet so far.
This is a good place to land. I'll give you a holler if I'm down in your area, agreed maybe we can burn some powder.
Oh...and stay far away from Alaska's List lol. Just a tip.Yeah.
I'm pissed.
