    Calif budget surplus theft

98 billion (surplus) divided by 60 million (Population) equals over $1600 per person. The clown plans on giving back $400 per household that own cars. What a deal. I would really be pissed if I still lived there.

I show less than 60 million pop. Excluding kids, refund should be a lot more.

Counting the illegals? There are at least 10 million in LA alone.

            Calif budget surplus theft

            CA population is 39 million.

If they were giving money back, it should be to those that pay taxes, and proportional to how much they pay.

Correct! That means $2500 per person.

Of course, roughly half the people don't pay taxes.

Considering that CA borrowed some $17.4 billion in 2021, did we really have a surplus then? Do we have one now? Why then did CA sell some $2.2 billion in bonds just a couple months ago?

There is broad recognition that CA has far more exposure to pension liabilities and OPEB than the excremento crowd is willing to admit. Do we believe excremento pols when they say "we have a surplus"? I don't.

Why address pension liabilities when you can start slavery reparations (soon to start in Calif). I'm so glad I moved.

Why is anyone in this thread concerned about CA cheating its taxpayers?
It's just one more validation of why we all left the PRK
