Awesome. We are putting our house on the market here in So Cal in the next few weeks. Hoping to be leaving So Cal by mid June. Heading to Texas to be with the grand kids. I`ve been wanting to leave this state for the last 30 years.

Congrats on your escape to Freedom. It will feel even better after you complete your last CA income tax filing and never have to worry about that again.

We already did and those F'rs charged us an extra $15 fee because we owed them even though we paid it in full when we filed. They won't pay me interest on money they ended up owing me.

So happy to be out of California!

Its kinda sad, for what was a great state to grow up in. I have great memories, but the last ten years leading up to moving, it just kept getting more and more crazy. I have watched over the last year and they just keep coming up with more and more stupid ideas and trying to hold the wheels on the bus with zip ties and duct tape. The latest one is Diablo Canyon, now because the Feds are putting $$$ out there, Gavin wants to consider keeping it open. Its insane and the Dem voters don't connect any of the dots to the stupid, just like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

                Congratulations.

The most surprising realization for us is that we really and truly didn't realize how bad it really is in CA until we left and then go back to visit family.

Woo Hoo. Get to lounge on real furniture and sleep on a real Cal King bed tonight!

The process of getting here after first deciding to GTFO of California has lasted years.

                  I could sleep for days......

congrats. I just stopped looking at properties in utah for 2.5 hrs on all the landwatch etc sites.

Might get divorced If I do, im selling all my assets and moving there too.

                      We might be neighbors.

I hate to hear about anybody getting a divorce but I will tell you, Utah is a beautiful state. We are extremely pleased with our decision.

The most difficult things we moved were my Snap-On roller boxes, tools, ammo and firearms. We had to unload all the tools out of the boxes just so my wife and I could get them up the ramp on the U-Haul.

                          We are officially Utahns!
Congrats on the move. Breathing in a free state is so much easier.
Are you getting a new safe delivered, or is it yours already? I moved my double door 6 foot wide 6 foot tall safe in a U-Haul. I had to have a safe mover come to my house and put it on the U-Haul, then when we got to my new home in Idaho, I had to have a safe mover come and take it out of the U-Haul.
I also have an older two bay Snap-On roller box about five feet wide. I didn't want to unload it so we had about 6 big guys push it up the ramp. That was the easy part. The hard part came when I only had four guys to gently let it roll down the ramp. We did it without crashing into anything, so all was fine.

I chose to sell both of my safes before we moved. Wasn't worth the cost or hassle to move them and I got 90% of what I paid for them 10 years ago. The new safe is basically 2 of the old ones combined. They were both pretty full so once this new one is full I will probably purchase another for the garage.

I had help loading and unloading the Snap-On roller boxes getting them to Hurricane but it was only me and my wife getting everything from Hurricane to Central. Luckily we had a bunch of empty Homer buckets to transfer all the tools to. I had to lug all of those.

My kids are gonna either love me or hate me when I die! Haha.
