I was looking over the Idaho Primary Election Ballot and was wondering where to find info on some of these folks? Is there any sort of voters' guide that shows what the candidates running for the different offices are all about?

Would also like to know, especially if the RINOs were identified. -

Prime time for the local news is 4-7 or so in the evening. Dunno' night hours but probably 9-11 or so. Get a subscription to the POS Boise paper. No debates for any major office this year.
I've got the current governor winning big time.
Not sure about lt. governor other than her current budget...she fired all her office assistants due to lack of money and she's in the hole afaik $2K or so.
Labrador wins with no close 2nd. Mail-in ballots arrived last week and wife is getting voting recommendations from people she used to work with in the Legislature.Last edited by -hanko; 04-19-2022, 4:17 PM.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Received this voter guide from the NRA today https://www.nrapvf.org/grades/Idaho/
Only briefly perused it and it seems that most incumbents received an A-A+ endorsement from the NRA. I gotta think there are some RINO's in there."Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." -Daniel WebsterComment

Thanks nitroxdiver, I was looking for a guide like CA has. No wonder I couldn't find it. I did find this though: https://www.idgop.org/voter-guide/?f...nt8CD_VVNhcKA0 It has a little info on the candidates, but not much.
hanko, if you don't mind, could you post some of the recommendations your wife receives?
Thanks for that link Senko, I tried to find something from the NRA and couldn't find it.
It seems there are some regular joe's running that don't really have any background, but want to try to make things better. I wish they had a profile that we could look up easily. We had one lady from my district come to the door and explain her position. I liked what she said and she has my vote.sigpicComment

I watched a PBS special the other night that was a debate for the Attorney General's office. I must say that the current Attorney General sounds like an arrogant ***. He is running for his sixth term, and I hope he loses.
Raul Labrador had some good points I thought. But I really liked what Arthur Mcomber had to say. I am leaning toward voting Mcomber.
You can watch the debate here if you like: https://www.idahoptv.org/shows/idahodebates/sigpicComment

I followed the link you provided. Thank you. First let me say that Art Macomber has personally represented me and I was satisfied with his representation. Knowing nothing about the other candidates I was unsure of who I should vote for. As I watched I was looking for evidence that our present AG had acted as an arrogant ***. I did not see it. As an attorney, but one who is not licensed in Idaho, I did not find the Attorney General to be arrogant at all. He simply told it as it is. Attorneys can give advice but we do not have control over the ultimate decisions our clients make. Hopefully they will take our advice but they do not have to and if they do not that does not relieve us of our responsibility and duty to provide the best representation we can, even if we are not in full agreement. Furthermore, I assume that they are asking for my legal opinion not my political opinion. For example if you ask me for my legal opinion on shooting all of the Dems in Congress I would strongly advise against it. If you asked for my political opinion, I might respond by asking if you needed to borrow one of my ARs and how many rounds did you think would be required.I watched a PBS special the other night that was a debate for the Attorney General's office. To me, Raul Labrador sounded like a typical dirt bag politician.
Nothing against Mr. Macomber, I just did not see where there was any evidence that our present AG was not doing a good job. The complaints of the other candidates appeared to me to be that he was not pursuing the political agenda that they would. Having come from a state where the AGs were merely pursuing their own political agendas, I am not in favor of having an AG in Idaho that fits that mold. So, unless something changes, I will vote to keep our present AG.
If you feel that I missed what you viewed as arrogance, feel free to respond.Comment

There's still time, even if you mail the ballot.
I've thought over whom I should recommend and watched a few debates in the last week. The best summary I've seen for the entire state is in the current issue of the quarterly Farm Bureau Insurance magazine...got it in today's mail. I believe you can pickup a free-bee at the local office.Last edited by -hanko; 05-08-2022, 9:47 PM.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.
