Kootenai County residents! Important Election Information.

I have known for some time now that Chris Fillios (County Commissioner District 2, CDA) was a Rino. My first run in with him was a few years ago when the BLM/Antifa riots were going on across the nation. At one point BLM/Antifa made plans to come to CDA to protest. In response to this protest (read: Burn, Loot, Murder event) Kootenai County Patriots assembled downtown fully armed and ready to defend their community from any shenanigans the aforementioned group may start. Chris Fillios showed his disdain for this action by the local patriots defending CDA. He spouted off the usual democrat party insults and condemnations about the gathering of armed people downtown. His remarks were pretty scathing and off putting.

Just yesterday a colleague of mine had a conversation with him and my colleague asked him what he thought of Biden. Chris replied "I think he's doing a great job". My colleague then remarked "Are you serious??!!" and then Chris replied "He inherited the problems of Trumps administration." I was floored when I heard this. Commissioner Fillios left a bad taste in my mouth years ago when he made the comments about the Kootenai County Patriots but this put icing on top of the cake.

Chris Fillios is a registered Republican but he is a RINO through and through. He only runs as a Republican because he knows that if he ran as a Democrat that he would lose. Chris is endorsed by KCDEMS and that speaks volumes see here:

Chris is up for re-election but he has a challenger named Bruce Mattare. Sadly I do not know anything about Bruce but at this point I do not care as long as it gets Chris out of the commissioners office. If anyone has any information on Bruce please post it here..

It is also worthy to mention that the County Assessor here (Bela Kovacs) is also up for re-election. Bela was not voted into office but instead was installed as County Assessor after the previous Assessor (Richard Hauser) passed away. After a few years of running the department it still seems that Bela does not know what he is doing. Ever since Bela was installed he has chased out some really smart and talented people in the Assessors department and he's fired anyone that has had a different view than him. He pretty much "rules" with an iron fist.

Bela is being challenged by Bob Scott and as far as I know is worlds better than Bela. Bob will get my vote.


I'm putting this info out there as an FYI for anyone interested in the upcoming Kootenai County elections. Please feel free to chime in with your thoughts.

There will be a "Meet the Candidates" election auction tomorrow, put on by North Idaho Freedom Fighters. The venue will be at Best Western Plus, 506 W. Appleway Ave, Coeur d'Alene. There will be a silent auction and a chance to meet candidates in our local and state rep races. Times will be 6pm- 8:30pm. My wife and I have attended a couple of their monthly business mixers on the last Thursday of every month, this even is in lieu of their regular mixer.
Chris Filios and Bill Brooks are peas in a pod regarding being elected as Republicans and carrying water for Dems. Brooks has gone so far as to disassociate from the KC Republican Party after members called him out for his politics and voting against the wishes of his constituents. Brooks is not running for another term, but Filios is up for re-election this year. Also note that the alternate forms of government study will now be put to the voters to increase our commissioners from 3 to 5, and to aurthorize a county executive to oversee the budget and treasury functions currently held by the tax assessor and clerks office, who are elected officials. This is a slippery slope to lose our voting power and holding our officials accountable too us.

Here is a little update on the Bela Kovacs issue here in Kootenai County. It appears the Kootenai County Chief Deputy and Deputy Assessors/Appraisers are lashing out against Bela.

I do believe this letter is going to be sent to the CDA Press in response to Bela's recent interview. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of that interview but I will post it here if I can locate it.

Kovacs was sucking hind tit at the meet the candidates fund raiser auction last month in CdA. Very few people put up their auction numbers when even $50 contributions were auctioned. Hope that is a sign of a good outcome for the assessors deputies.

I have posted below the offices coming up for election. I have marked my choices in red. While I know little of Jennifer Locke who is running for Clerk I do know that she has a picture of President Trump hanging in her office. That is good enough reason for me.

The Assessor and Commissioner positions in Districts 2 and 3 are of utmost importance.

Anybody know Chris Fillios' real address? I'm curious to know if he even lives in his district.

Thank you for these articles. Note that Ruben Miranda mentioned in the second article is running against Leslie Duncan. She ran against him last election and blew him away but now he is back again to give it another shot. Ruben is as sleezy as they come.

Voter records show that hundreds of Kootenai County Democrats have answered the call, and they have been successful in their efforts. After the last election, Commissioner Fillios was captured on a videoed Zoom call thanking Reuben Miranda and other prominent Democrats for temporally affiliating as fake Republicans to ensure his 73-vote victory over his Republican primary challenger.
