I am now permanent telecommute and my boss doesn't care where I live. Both kids have left CA, so there was no reason to stay. We moved from one OC to the other OC (in FL).

Life feels slower here and the people I've run into seem much friendlier than California residents.

Welcome to the club... Left Monterey in February and moved to North Florida. No masks, No bans, No BS. Can walk right into a store and buy all the ammo I want. .50Cal rifle no problem! 3-Day waiting period on firearm purchases is waived if you are a concealed permit holder (which is ridiculously easy to get btw), LEO, Servicemember or are trading in a firearm. Also waived for long guns and shotguns if you completed a hunter safety course.

I just watched that Newsome Recall election yesterday and giggled all evening long cause it's not my problem! Everyday is like vacation here...

Oh & as if a lack of State Income Tax wasn't enough, between auto insurance and DMV fees I save $5400 a year being in Florida over Cali.

Friend of mine moved from Carmel to FL a few years ago. He's a hedge fund manager so I'm sure he saves millions every year in taxes.

Congrats....I live in the City of Orange in Orange County, TX. Many moons ago, they grew oranges here. Orange seems to be a popular name.
