    Idaho camping

So where is a good place to tent camp or maybe tent trailer camp, that is not half the state away from Nampa Idaho? I was looking up towards Lake Cascade area for some nice camp sites, any favorites places there? How is Anderson Reservoir, any good camping sites around there? I see Lucky Peak Lake is not to far. Any good places there? Any good places around C J Strike Reservoir?

The Sawtooths were nice…Redfish Lake and all that. We only stayed a couple of days but would like to go back.

Redfish is a normally very full campground. I'd check to see if it's full if that's your pick. You can check and make reservations on line...google a bit.

If we take the horses, we get a reservation at Bull Trout Lake. That's before you get to Redfish and over the hill. Horse reservations put you in a "gotta' have a horse" section. It's about half a mile from the main campground. The main area is wall to wall motorhomes parked on concrete. If you like crowds on the weekend, it's a lot like Redfish in that regard.

We camp in a USFS campground with no reservation system. It's a 6 mile dirt road from the highway, and I'd recommend 4wd and skill in driving on dirt if you're bringing in a trailer. Camp host and wife live near us and are good friends. Wife will email host to save a site or 2 for us and he'll answer in the affirmative. We'll drive up on a Monday or Tuesday and leave on the following weekend. That avoids slow traffic in both directions.

True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

Yeah, we didn’t stay in those reservable camp cities. Just saying that the area was nice.

Head up to warm lake mid week. East of cascade on warm lake road.

Head up middle fork road out of crouch along the middle fork of the payette and pick one of the many sites available along the river.

Head up hwy 21 north of Lowman and pick one of the many sights along the south fork of the payette river.

I could go on and on and on.
