Actually we just had one drinking out of a small pond at our front door about an hour ago. Kinda hot. She seemed really hot.

Here's our local resident, with last year's calf, over the winter. She surprised my daughter-in-law who was unloading my granddaughter from the car. She very wisely moved slooowly to the garage. My wife drew the line at sampling her fruit trees, and went mama bear on her with the triangle we have for calling the dogs in. It's loud and obnoxious enough to drive off moose apparently. For size reference, that is a forklift attachment they are standing next to in the one photo.

A moose once bit my sister......

Seriously though - I was just up at the Trinity Lakes, fishing and camping. We were visited by a young moose two evenings in a row, and he muddied up my fishing spot quite a bit. Still managed to catch four after he vamoosed.

The last morning we were having coffee by the fire, and he came out of the tree line and commenced to fast-trot through our camp. You never saw a bunch of grown men scatter so fast and get behind the truck.

Love the Trinities! Very high elevation so not accessible for much of the year. Hopefully it was not crowded.

Great moose pix! That's a big guy. Best to get out of his way for sure!

Big Trinity CG was jammed, with quads and ATV's buzzing around all over the place. We camped at Big Roaring River Lake CG. Not nearly as crowded, and several sites were open to choose from when we arrived Friday afternoon.
