Well good luck with that! When I moved up in July of 2016, I’d have never guessed what was going to happen. When I registered my truck it actually took less than 20 minutes and I had to buy my brother a fat lunch on that bet..

Fast forward to last week, when I went in to register a trailer I bought. I arrived at 9 am and had to pick up a “beeper” and wait – and wait we did… I didn’t get in until after 2 pm and my appointment only burned maybe 10 minutes of their time.

For you folks that don’t know, North Idaho is mostly Federal, State, and Indian lands – with very little being available for purchase. When I bought my land, 10 acres was the minimum lot size you could subdivide to. Now we just had a greedy developer try and stuff 64 houses on 160 acres instead of the required 16 units the law calls for, so we had to show up and petition the country planning commission to deny their request for variance. Welcome to kalifornia all over again. This is the *EXACT* same crap that ruined CA!!

I can’t believe it.. Fortunately, I’m near Montana and am hoping to find something there before it’s all gone like North Idaho already is. The only solace is the crazy money people are getting for land they bought only a few short years ago.

Drove through and stayed in MT on the way to and from WY recently. MT is suffering from Californication in regards to C-19 and masks. There is definitely a more liberal feeing in the whole state (to me at least) than North Idaho. A lot of fear there. Where in North Idaho are you?

Well I’ll be there on the 28th to confirm for myself. We bought in November of 2019 at a decent price. 5 acres on dead end road. My wife’s folks bought 1100 yards southwest of us on a different dead end road. My Wife’s sister and husband bought between us. My BIL bought in nampa.

OP, any Idaho dmv office can help you with vehicle registration. You may end up with a different county number at the start of the plate, but that makes no difference. E.g., I can go to Meridian v. Caldwell (our county seat) to save time. I end up with a 1A (Ada county) instead of a 2C (Canyon county) plate.
