The answer is simple. Taxpayers are screwed again. The State will be lucky to recover 5% of that. If they outsourced to bounty hunters, they may get 25% to 50% back.

The irony is that not one state employee will lose their job over this, even though this is not a rounding error but rather gross incompetence. IMHO, at least 100 state employees should be fired and the investigated...this kind of error dies not haooen without intent by the employees to facilitate it happening.

Since this is the EXPATS forum, it's not our problem. The state I live in works on a balanced budget, and had a surplus last year......
