Just remember in Texas when shooting your bullets, shot must remain on your land. Shooting across property line is trespass by projectile in Texas.

You have to look at the regulations in the county the property is located.
For example, my property is no longer considered "open" or farm/ranch land.

Moving there in the future, just wanna know.
Completely dependent on your county and city laws. Where I was in Bastrop it was 5 acre minimum for pistols and shotguns and 10 for rifles. It used to be 2 acres but some illegal blasted another illegal down the road. Where I am now in Hays county I only have a 1 acre in a neighborhood with no lethal weapons being allowed to be fired. On the other side of the street behind my property they have 30 acres and shoot all the time. My friend here in Hays Co only has 3 acres but he shoots a lot. His property backs up to the river so he just shoots across the river. Some neighbors called the deputies to try and get him to stop but the deputy said it’s perfectly legal where he is. I would imagine Travis county (Austin) would be pretty strict.

Bexar (pronounced "bear", don't mess it up ) County is pretty big. Quick search yields this

On November 21, 1990, the Bexar County Court issued an order that it is illegal to discharge a firearm on ten acres or less in an unincorporated area of the County. So, if you own, control, or have permission from the land owner of 10.01 or more acres, you are good

From what I've heard of Austin, you might as well stay in CA.

Thank you for that. Now I know my minimum acreage to play in my backyard. Thanks!

I'm in unincorporated McLennan county, on just under 20 acres, and have a 200+ yard range in the back pasture. Our property is shaped like a giant trapezoid with only a tip on the road, so I set up the range "longways". I could put it out to 300 yards, or a full quarter mile if I ran it down the front of the property towards the farm across the road.
