What was your first purchase after freedom?

So, fellow California escapees, what was the first purchase you made after you got out?

Me, I can't recall exactly. I think it was the Sig Rattler:

Yes, the can and the Sig M17 was much later. Thinking I will SBR it, but I have a few ahead in the queue.

This B&T USW-A1 was also an early freedom purchase:

Again, the can and the tax stamp was a bit later.

    What's yours?

SIG P-938 for carry. Then an 11.5" AR pistol for a truck gun, just because.

My memory isn't what it used to be so I have a question for you Howie. Weren't you the person who shot at my 14" circular plate at a long ago SSZS and hit the head of the bolt holding the plate to the 5' pole. The round actually broke the head of the bolt and knocked the plate off and to the ground. Whoever it was, they were able to reattach everything so we could continue to shoot at it. I recall you, if you were the one, continued to apologize even tho I said it was no big deal. I thought it was a really good shot. I replaced the bolt with one a few grades harder (from a 5 to a 8 IIRC) when I got back home.

If it was in fact you, I wasn't aware you had moved out of state. Good for you. I'd be gone also but with the kids and 12 grandkids local, wife says nope.

Yes sir. That was me. My eyes were much better then. And I could still shoot like that.
My wife also remembers some very pleasant conversations she had with you during the event.

But yes, we moved to Idaho 2 years ago with 4 of our 5 kids, and are now giving them the life and future they deserve.

Two 13 round mags for my EDC (HK P2000) followed by an HK P30sk. I'm going to SBR my 9mm PCC when I get time.

Pretty pedestrian but I bought a new 9mm M&P Shield from North 40 for $238 OTD during their store grand opening sale in Lewiston. I have carried it daily since.
