    Trigger lock help

Hi all-copy/pasta from the general forum, hoping to get help here, maybe another military member has had a similar problem...

Been a lurker for awhile, I guess this is my first post and I hope someone can help me out. I just PCS'ed back Stateside from overseas, my brother had my guns in storage while I was gone...and he lost the keys to the trigger locks, along with a couple really expensive paddle holsters and all my cleaning kit.

As I was stationed here before, I have the memo from the state that clears the guns via serial # check, so I can prove they are mine.

Master lock was no help, do I go to a gunsmith or a locksmith? And can anyone recommend one in the Beale AFB area? (Roseville, Auburn, Grass Valley, Penn Valley even Sacramento...)

    Thanks in advance-

    John

I would use a Gun Smith.

I bought my first three pistols from the below guys, and had them do a trigger job on one, as well as fix my Ruger 22 when I locked it up

Are their any numbers on the locks?

If so, they might be key numbers and could be matched with new locks. Don't know for sure, I don't use them.

A lock smith could easily get them off, but might be reticent to do so due to the locks being on firearms.

And, please smack brother upside the head!
      Sorry, not sorry.

Check out Deviant Ollum on youtube. You can most likely pick the locks yourself in a few minutes

Crisis averted...brother found the keys, along with my holsters, cleaning gear and the assorted ammo I had stored with him prior to going overseas. Thanks all for your inputs!

Glad to hear. Maybe I'll meet you sometime at the R&G.

This is the correct answer. Trigger locks are absolutely horrible for security. After I learned you can pick them with a paper clip I didn't even keep the keys for them.

I had a friend forget his keys on a shooting trip, so we pulled up the video, picked the lock, and he decided it was time to get better storage.
If you are wondering if you can get a LTC in Riverside County: THE ANSWER IS YES!
