    FOUR DAYS

That's how many days I was short from getting the Overseas Tour Ribbon.

One needs 8 months 15 days, and I was at 11 days.

    Unreal.

I'd be more annoyed, but push comes to shove if they gave me a choice to stay another week just to get a ribbon worth zero promotion points I'd probably would have skipped out anyway.

I'm sure I'll get another chance at it.

That was that gents. I'm on transitional leave now.

I missed my first deployment ribbon by 4 days as well, did 86 days underway, 4 short of the 90 required.

What an odd time requirement. Did you not meet it due to the 9 month deployments now? I hit the time requirement for the ribbon before I even went on R&R.

                    This.

If you do a full 20, you will have more than you care to replace during each formal inspection.

No ribbon = not a real deployment.

It's like not getting a sea service ribbon after floating in the Pacific for 85 days waiting for NK to decide it wants to take a shot at you. It's like you weren't even there bro.

                      YOU DON'T RATE!

It's also just as good as getting a meritorious mass while having a perfect program during the wing inspection. Gee, thanks sir...
