Drill weekend planning oops...............

This weekend is a 4 day drill weekend for my battalion. They were supposed to convoy down to the range and do weapons qual.

The weapons qual and convoy got canceled. However, it's still going to be a 4 day drill weekend. I have no idea what it is they plan to have the whole BN do that whole time.

i have a 3 day mostly AT prep and family day. top is gonna get a huge joke played on him. he was rooting for the NY rangers in the stanly cup they lost so he is going to get a Kings themed cake, plates, sippy cup, table cloth and so on. hey he asked for it.

Somewhat Related.

When I was in active duty, Our Squad leader was leaving to go to Drill School, so we got him a Lilo & Stitch cake, because he was from Hawaii. The baker and HEB didn't think it was funny, because the inscription on the cake said his name so she knew it was not for a kid. We also pitched in and bought him a ukulele. Needless to say, he did not think it was funny and smoked us all in the motor pool. It was funny and our 1SG decided to also join in when he saw us pushing.

During pre mobilization spin up my detachment was at a hotel for some of our training.

One of our guys put some popcorn in the microwave.

He ended up cooking it too long and smoked up the room and set the fire alarm off. The whole hotel had to evacuate.

At that same time, another one of our guys had ordered a pizza, and the delivery guy came while the whole hotel was out in the parking lot. We didn't know who to give a hard time, the guy that ordered a pizza, or the guy that caused us all to evacuate the hotel.

BEST PART: The hotel management wrote a letter to all guests and put it under their doors explaining the popcorn set it off. I saved my copy of the letter. Soooooooooooooooo, I'm going to have that letter mounted as the guy's going away gift when he departs the unit.
