I have never once gotten a friend request from one of these people and I bet it's because I don't list I am in the military on my fb and I don't post motto pics as my profile only my friend can see the pictures I post.

If you are worried about opsec maybe you should be wary about what you post online.

In 5 minutes I have found out you are a boot intel army reserve trying to get a commission. You drill out of Dublin so you most likely live nearby. You have a new unit so it's probably small and wouldn't be hard to find who you are if I called and asked to speak to someone with recent knowledge of the direct commission process or ask a recruiter to take me on a tour of your unit. Be careful what you post online and be even more carful trying to act like you foiled some big plan by the russians to infiltrate lower enlisted US military ranks via facebook.

The first sentence explains the second...

Most of these are not an OPSEC issue, its a money issue. They send sexy pictures to lure you in and then ask for money with whatever lame excuse works. They milk it as long as they can with false hopes and when you catch on they move along to the next sucker. These pictures are pro photos and it isn't them doing the scamming.

Not exactly the same, but Blackmail is the hot trend against Marines in Oki, except over skype. get requested to do a dirty video chat with some girl, she gets you in the moment and gets you to take your clothes off, then she records you and threatens to send the video to your command unless you fork over a fat wad of cash.

That works? People get all worked up about stupid things. So what if your command sees you naked on video, they'd be just as uncomfortable as you are

Tons of people get fake friend requests from automated fake profiles. It has nothing to do with you being in the military. Calm down there James Bond...

It's not an OPSEC issue, I think you are digging for something...
