    Beret Displays

During my time in the Army I have been fortunate enough to have served with some pretty outstanding units - units that in addition to the requisite shoulder patches and regimental badges have some pretty distinctive headgear as well. As I transitioned here and there I collected a few berets that I am quite proud of and would like to place in position of honor and esteem somewhere in my home or office.

I have seen this done with placing berets on mannequin heads, but this, in my mind, looks too much like the severed heads of your enemies (though I know a guy who keeps an NVA helmet from '68 on a mannequin head, and it works for that... bullet hole and all.)

I don't really know what I want to do with them, just that I want to do SOMETHING with them. I may just end up with an ornamental hat rack where I hang each in a row, but I'm looking for creative ideas here. How do you display your headgear? How WOULD you display your headgear?

Perhaps styrofoam mannequin heads that you dremel down the distinctive facial features so you can still achieve a proper fit, just without the humanistic look. Paint them black and call it a day.
