SELRES info for a 8404 Corpsman

Can anybody tell me how its like to be in a drilling reserve unit as a 8404 Corpsman. Will i be with regular navy or with a marine reserve center and how it work. Any info would be great.

Good question. I talked to a reserve recruiter and got the impression that they basically send you to whichever unit has a billet for your rate/NEC. Where I live, the Navy and Marine Reserve Centers are at the same location. I was surprised to learn that there were several operational Navy units there.

You could possibly come back in as a 0000, unless you want to be reserve green side. I knew Reserve guys that did clinic with Navy people, and ones that were always goign to the field, 29 Palms, Bridgeport, and whatnot and they never deployed.
