    CSMR Processing

I recently attended the CSMR orientation, and submitted my paperwork.

Q: Does anyone have any idea how long Sacramento is taking to process applications at this time?
    Sincerely,
    Chris

The CSMR has become a far more serious organization than when I was in Sacramento. Used to be that it was mostly used so that Guard members who couldn't continue with their Guard service could keep their SAD jobs. There were some commo guys down at Los Alamitos, the marksmanship team and others here and there, but standards were pretty low and promotions and education seemed to be catch-as-catch-can.

Now it's much more organized, standards seem much higher and there's even a PME system.

I actually met a few of them at last Drill. They were doing something there I guess.

I wondered what all those guys were doing wearing on the ACU "CALIFORNIA" in place of where "US ARMY" would be.

I also wondered what all those 60 year old SPC's were as well.

        So that explains it.

Yea, standards are very high apparently. You can't be older than 60 for first time enlistment, and you need to be less than 180 pounds if you are 5ft5in tall.

Seriously though, they don't get paid on bit. They truely are giving back.

It takes about 6 months, give or take from your orientation date until you report in uniform to your first drill. Of course this timeline may be lengthened if you have issues in your background or with your application packet.
