Tips on AFOQT?

Hello, i have the AFOQT scheduled for this friday at Travis and i was wondering how many of you have taken it before? What should i expect as far as the test goes? Im not looking into a pilot or nav position so i think it mainly focuses on my math and english aptitude. Ive only had a week to study but im a college student and pretty good with basic math and english. Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks

I took it during a brief bout of insanity after I received my Bachelor's Degree and thought I wanted to turn in my stripes for bars. The one thing I can say is that you cannot finish each section in the alloted time unless you are Stephen Hawking. Not sure if they still give you a five minute warning, but if they do, start filling in the "C's". It's better to have something in there, than blanks.

The section dealing with avionics was interesting. Other than that, I forgot what was in it. I must have passed it because I interviewed for two commissioned positions before I hit the age limit and I was no longer eligible. My degree helped me with my promotion to E-8, so I can't complain. Good luck with it. Just remember, fill in as many of the circles as you can, even if you don't know the answer.

Thanks for tips. The only thing that gets me nervous is the vocabulaey section as i havent used 1/100th of the words in the study guide..

I didnt think it was too bad. Have you done good on test like SAT's?

I got 99's on everything except one section, vocab I think. The rotating blocks were hardest for me.

I already had a pilot's license so the aviation and weather stuff was easy.

Have you studied any of the aviation stuff?

I think that is where you can gain the most points vs the math and English stuff that if you dont know by now you wont
