Traumatic SGLI

For those of you who have served and been involved in a traumatic incident, not even in combat, you need to look into this. I just submitted a claim for a motorcycle accident that left me in a cast for several months and may be getting a payout of $100k.

This is not advertised at all, and you may need to have your medical folks look into it as well if they don't know about it.

Seems doubtful that you'll get a $100K according to the examples on that page. Good to know about this...

Doc's already certified it and it's processing now. The part with Activities of Daily Life are where the money comes in for accidents. I spent over 4 months in a full arm cast and that gives me the two areas that I wasn't able to perform the activities.

The command I'm at has processed tons of these and people are getting big pay days. I didn't think I was going to qualify for it, but after I sat down with Doc and reviewed everything, it was good to go. Helps that the Doc was trained by the claims people so he knows exactly what they want to see and how to submit it right.
